Mom's first chemo treatment went well, so far she is feeling good just a little tired. She is playing with Kim & the boys this morning. She goes back to Mayo on Tues 8/7 for blood work and a meeting with the plastic surgeon for an expansion if she is ready. Then she meets with the medical oncologist to review the blood work and talk about how everything is going. On Wed 8/8 morning she has her second treatment. Her treatment is every other week for four sessions of one chemical and then every other week of four sessions of another treatment. So if she stays on schedule she will be done with chemo Oct 31. Then radiation starts 2 weeks after her last chemo. 5 days a week for 5 to 6 weeks.

Hi Aunt Kathy,
Wow how things happen so quickly. I'm sure you wish they could happen faster though. I love this blog idea as I agree that it would be draining and time consuming to try to update everyone in your life. Know that we are all praying for a safe and fast recovery! You've got a great family and support system so hang in there. I just got back from Europe late last night so I'll send a small photo album out sometime next week. Looking forward to moving to CO next week hopefully! K have a fabulous Friday!
Love,
Jackie

Aunt Kathy-
Glad to hear your first treatment went well...I was thinking of you. This was a great idea to keep everyone posted on your progress. We are off to the great north woods on Saturday...everyone is very excited for a week of vacation. I am glad you have your grandbabies there to make you laugh and smile, kids know how to do that so very well!!
God bless and we will keep sending our prayers your direction.
Say hi to everyone for me and take care of yourself,
Love you,
Renee

Aunt Kathy,
Hopefully you are still feeling well after your first treatment. I'm sure it's fun having the boys there to keep you busy. We are so glad this site got set up so we can keep track of your progress. We're thinking of you & send our prayers.

Aunt Kathy I will be checking in as well. I love you, stay strong, eat and sleep. These things sound simple but help so much. My Love Always- Steph

Kathy, you're in our prayers that the treatments do what they're supposed to do, but don't leave you feeling too sick.

It may sound trite, but it's sincere - if there's ANYTHING we can do, please don't hesitate to ask.
